I have a 1995 Mustang GT. About 2 months after I got it I would drive it around and after 45 min it would shut down. I thought the coil was overheating so i changed that no help. then i changed the distributer cap then a some computer system thing on the passenger finder well still no help. i then replaced the wire harness from the coil to the distributer and now after setting the timing to 10, 12, and even tried it all the way up to 20 before it wont shift right for some reason. it don't overheat anymore or shut down but it wont shift right. the transmission has a kit in it so when it shifts into 2nd gear the tires go faster then the car but it wont do it anymore it gets up to 4000 RPM and the needle jumps back and forth from 4000 to 4500 like its toping out. i just replaced all the spark plugs and spark plug wires. i don't know what to do. Anybody with the least bit of help is appreciated. thank you Attachments:

I have no clue. You may need to find a good tranny shop and see what they say. It could be alot of things I would thank but. Does it slip at all?

I would take Jerry's advice. that would rule out trans problem.

I wouldn't think the tires would effect it shifting. Take it to a good transmission shop.

I think it might be something like a speed sensor, that tells the trans when to shift. Not sure if your model has one.

hey kramer on a 95 the tranny has a 4l60e or somthing like that or it might be a e40de or a adoe either way the tranny has electrical commponets in it . what might be happening is that one of the shift silodoids might be bad wich is causeing it to slip/stall at moderate or high rpm the only way to determine is to have a shop run a diagnosis on the tranny brain and also it could be the silidoid for the converter/overdrive cause it should be a push button try it with out it on
