Has anyone removed the hood heat sheild and had a problem with the paint? Took mine off because of the bugs, pine needles and moisture that build up under it, but I'm worried about the engine heat disturbing the paint on top of the hood. Even considered custom painting the underside of the hood.

I have seen cars with them off and they had the custom paint but not sure what the heat did to the hood. I sure hope someone knows I would like to know this as well.

No, removing the (Heat shield as you call it) is really a noise supressor, will cause no problems to the paint whatsoever. If I am corresct in assuming you are talking about the (Blanket) that covers the underside of the hood.
